By Ashley Kurz, eHow Contributor-Cheerleader uniforms are expensive, and purchasing coordinating accessories like chearleading bows only adds to the cost. But chearleading bows that match the uniforms can tie your squad together and give your group a polished and professional look. Rather than spending extra money on manufactured hair bows, you can create your own pretty easily with very little cost. The process also makes a fun craft for the girls to do together.

.Buy ribbon and sequins in the colors of the cheer uniforms. Choose a ribbon thickness of about 1 1/2 inches in the main cheer uniform color and 1/2-inch-thick ribbon in the secondary color.
.Lay an 18-inch length of the thicker ribbon flat on a table.
.Apply a bead of hot glue along the length of the thick ribbon, and place an 18-inch length of the thinner ribbon on top of it. Allow the glue to dry.
.Tie the combined ribbon into a bow. Make a loop near the center and pinch it with one hand. 5.Grab the ribbon on the opposite side of your hand, wrap it once around the loop, pull the ribbon through the wrapped section, and pull tight. It is much like tying your shoes.
.Apply a bead of hot glue along the top of a hair clip base.
.Press your bow to the center of hair clip base securely.
.Apply hot glue to the edges of the hair clip base that are not covered by the bow.
.Press sequins into the glue on the hair clip base to cover it. Allow the glue to dry.
